Tours
From the wadis of Oman to the dunes of Liwa and the Nile Valley. A tour of the Middle East brings a city together with the country behind it.
Combining
In the Emirates, Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah is usually the starting point. Sharjah, the Hajar Mountains near Hatta and Abu Dhabi are all within reach of Dubai. From Abu Dhabi you reach the Liwa dunes on the edge of the Empty Quarter and the palm gardens of Al Ain against the Omani border. Together they make one trip: a city, the desert, the mountains and the coast on the Gulf of Oman.
Abu Dhabi also combines well with Oman, which offers a very different landscape of wadis and mountains close by. In Oman itself, the trip almost always starts in Muscat, with the Hajar Mountains behind it, the wadis and the sand sea of the Wahiba Sands.
In Egypt, the Nile Valley and the Red Sea go well together. If you want the sea after the desert, you fly on from Dubai to the Maldives.
The countries
Each country and each emirate has its own page, with the regions, when to go and what to know before you leave.

Desert, history and a hospitality that often turns out to be the most memorable part of the journey.
Discover JordanA green strip along the Nile, with temples, tombs and desert on either side.
Discover Egypt
Mountains, wadis and a quiet coastline: a destination that reveals itself at an unhurried pace.
Discover Oman
Seven emirates, not all of them skylines. Beyond the famous cities lies a land of dunes, wadis and oasis villages that move at a very different pace.
Discover United Arab Emirates
A city that keeps rewriting itself, though the old creek and its souks still hold on to the pace of life before the skyscrapers.
Discover Dubai
The capital prefers to govern with calm rather than noise, putting its wealth towards culture and space rather than spectacle.
Discover Abu Dhabi
The most understated of the emirates, where culture and heritage matter more than height or gloss.
Discover SharjahA peninsula that rebuilt itself within a few decades, yet just beyond the new skyline remains quiet and bare.
Discover QatarFor Oman, with Muscat, the mountains, the wadis and two nights in the desert, allow ten days to two weeks. For a trip through the Emirates, with a city, the desert, the mountains and the coast, allow a week to ten days. For Egypt, allow ten to fourteen days.
Yes. Sharjah, the Hajar Mountains near Hatta and Abu Dhabi are all within reach of Dubai, and if you add a neighbouring emirate or the mountains, allow a week. That way you see more of the country than the skyline.
Travel advice applies per country, not per region, and within one country it can differ by area. You will find it with the Belgian Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs, at diplomatie.belgium.be. We follow it for every country on your route, before you leave and during your trip, and discuss with you what it means for your journey.
Your trip
With us, a trip starts with a conversation. We think along about the country, the regions and the pace, and work out the trip with a local partner who knows the country.
