Tailor-made Oceania tours

From the red centre of Australia to the lagoons around Tahiti. Oceania is far away, and a trip there takes time and choices.

Combining

Which regions and countries go together

Australia is a continent, and most travellers fly between its regions. Sydney and the Blue Mountains, Uluru and Kata Tjuta, and the Great Barrier Reef with its rainforest go well together. New Zealand consists of two large islands, and with two weeks you are better off choosing one.

You can combine Australia and New Zealand in one trip, but each country needs at least two weeks. French Polynesia consists of 118 islands and atolls in five archipelagos. Tahiti has the only international airport, and a trip there starts with the question of which islands to combine.

Questions about a tour of Oceania

How many days do you need for a tour of Oceania?

For Australia, allow three to four weeks for three or four regions; with two weeks, choose two or three. For New Zealand, allow three weeks for both islands. For French Polynesia, allow two to three weeks for Tahiti, two or three of the Society Islands and one Tuamotu atoll.

Can you combine Australia and New Zealand?

Yes, but allow more time, as each country needs at least two weeks.

What is the travel advice for Oceania?

Travel advice applies per country, not per continent, and within one country it can differ by region. You will find it with the Belgian Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs, at diplomatie.belgium.be. We follow it for every country on your route, before you leave and during your trip, and discuss with you what it means for your journey.
