Tailor-made Asia tours

From the steppe of Mongolia to the islands of Indonesia. Asia is too big for one trip, and a tour starts with choosing a part of it.

Combining

Which countries go together

In Southeast Asia, Laos is often combined with Vietnam, overland, or with Cambodia via a flight from Pakse or Vientiane. Cambodia in turn goes together with Vietnam or Laos. From Singapore, Johor and Malacca lie across the causeway, and Malaysia links the peninsula with Borneo by a domestic flight.

In East Asia, South Korea and Japan go well together: from Busan you fly to Fukuoka in under an hour, or take the night ferry to Shimonoseki. Hong Kong is one of the best-connected airports in the region, and deserves more than a stopover.

In the Himalaya, Bhutan is within reach of Nepal, though that combination needs its own planning. And the Maldives are often the extension of a trip through Sri Lanka.

Questions about a tour of Asia

How many days do you need for a tour of Asia?

That depends on the country. For Japan, allow two to three weeks, with two or three nights per place. For Thailand, allow two weeks for two or three regions, for Vietnam two weeks for two parts of the country. Indonesia and Mongolia need two to three weeks, and Uzbekistan ten days to two weeks. If you combine two countries, add the time together.

Which countries in Southeast Asia can you combine?

Laos with Vietnam, overland, or with Cambodia via a flight from Pakse or Vientiane. Cambodia with Vietnam or Laos. Singapore with Johor and Malacca across the causeway, or with Bintan and the Riau Islands by boat. Which combination suits you depends on what you want to see and how much time you have.

What is the travel advice for Asia?

Travel advice applies per country, not per continent, and within one country it can differ by region. You will find it with the Belgian Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs, at diplomatie.belgium.be. We follow it for every country on your route, before you leave and during your trip, and discuss with you what it means for your journey.
